PROJECT: | Simultaneous Interpreting Laboratory |
In 2015, Soroll installed its Labtra® teaching software suite and Bosch translation equipment in the Translation and Simultaneous Interpreting Laboratory at the Faculty of Languages at the Complutense University of Madrid (Room B34 of Building B), after the project had been awarded to Roycan Audiosistemas.
The equipment supplied by Soroll consists of a lecturer’s desk, twelve double booths for twenty-four student interpreters with computers and a control system adapted to teaching, sixteen desks for listeners/speakers, and an announcement system. The lab can be used for classes of up to forty students and is adapted to teaching with Labtra® software, simulating a professional environment for practising simultaneous interpreting.
With the installation of this first simultaneous interpreting lab and the three language labs with Optimas School technology installed a few years ago, the Faculty of Languages is now one of the best places in Spain for university-level language teaching and learning, providing students and lecturers with access to state-of-the-art technology.
