PROJECT: | Translation and interpreting classroom |
In September 2016, Roycan was awarded the project to supply a translation and interpreting lab, an installation that was carried out by Soroll, the creator and developer of Labtra® software and distributor of Bosch translation equipment.
The new lab installed by Soroll for the training of students on the Bachelor’s Degree in Translation and Interpreting at the Rey Juan Carlos University features a central lecturer’s desk and twelve desks for speakers/listeners, which are surrounded by eleven interpreting booths for two undergraduates each (one of which is adapted for people with reduced mobility), thereby creating a professional space for practising simultaneous interpreting exercises.
With this new lab, the university launched a process to promote the Bachelor’s Degree in Translation and Interpreting by offering its students the best tools for their professional training.
