PROJECT: | Simultaneous Interpreting Lab |
Soroll supplied and installed a simultaneous interpreting lab at the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts of the University of Alcalá, in the historic building of the San José de Caracciolos School in Alcalá de Henares.
The solution consists of the integration of a state-of-the-art Bosch DICENTIS conference and simultaneous interpreting system with Labtra® training software.
Labtra® is a multimedia teaching tool that works natively with standard Dante digital audio, developed by Soroll and implemented at numerous universities. It is specifically tailored to training students in the field of simultaneous interpreting and designed for classrooms and language and interpreting labs.
The lab is equipped with twelve double booths (one of them adapted for people with reduced mobility) for twenty-four student interpreters with a desk and Labtra® software, a discussion system for fourteen students/speakers with delegate units, an infrared language distribution system for up to forty listeners, and a lecturer’s position complete with a desk, participation unit and Labtra® teacher management computer. In addition, the classroom has a full set of audiovisual equipment.
