Simultaneous Translation and Interpreting Lab
Project jointly funded by the ERDF, within the ERDF Operational Programme for the Valencia Region 2014-2020
A state-of-the-art teaching tool designed by and for interpreters
LABTRA ® DIGITAL is the first system for the teaching of interpreters that combines the latest Bosch technology in the field of congresses and conference rooms, with a full software package designed for teachers and students.
Advantages for students
Studying and engaging in classroom activities becomes a multimedia, attractive, enriching and fun experience for them. They are at all times orally communicated with the teacher and with their classmates, being able to talk among themselves, share experiences, ask for help or work in groups or pairs.
They have access to an array of resources, activities and multimedia exercises based on the Internet, audio and video, tailored to their needs and to the digital world we live in.
Advantages for teachers
It enables the use of new multimedia tools from day one, without the need for advanced computer skills or too much specific training.
Everything is under the teacher’s control. Students can work individually, but the teacher can talk to them via their headsets, manage what activities they can do and monitor each student’s work from their desk.
The teacher wastes no time managing or configuring the computers. The classroom is teaching-ready from the get-go and the students start work immediately.
A revolutionary system
The innovative design of LABTRA ® DIGITAL is based solely on groundbreaking multimedia technologies. This means that the renowned and revolutionary Bosch IP OMNEO platform can be intuitively and seamlessly integrated with all the teaching tools that are necessary in translation and interpreting classes.
Thanks to this perfect integration, interpreting students can practise with the same equipment that they will later use in their future profession.
One system for everything
The LABTRA ® DIGITAL interface and tools have been validated by teachers, are extremely easy to use and very intuitive, and can be used with touchscreens.
Within the same interface, the teacher can send and control interpreting activities, and communicate with one or more students to give instructions, even during a live speech without interrupting any exercises. They can also control and manage any computer remotely, monitor the cameras in the room, organise the class, and prepare exams.
